JD Byrider Team Driver Ron Petersen Named KRA Driver of the Year
J.D. Byrider
Special thanks to the memory of James F. DeVoe, Founder and
Chairman of JD Byrider, and his son-in-law, W. Steele Gudal, who
took significant steps to ensure that the team had the necessary
funds to support the 2006 seasons effort.
At the recent Kart Racers of America (KRA) awards banquet at
Mark Dismore's New Castle (IN) Motorsports Park (NCMP) JD
Byrider Kart Racing Team Driver Ron Petersen, of Brownsburg, IN
took the 125cc ICC Shifter and Yamaha Pipe season class
championships, and was presented the Senior Driver of the Year
award.
Ron posted 19 wins and 5 second place finishes during the 2006
KRA season. Ron and the team thanked all of the team sponsors:
J.D. Byrider, Tony Stewart Motorsports, Eldora Speedway,
Carpenter Realtors and Margison Graphics for making it possible
to have a fantastic season.
A special thanks was offered to the memory of James F. DeVoe,
Founder and Chairman of JD Byrider, and his son-in-law, W.
Steele Gudal, who took significant steps to ensure that the team
had the necessary funds to support the 2006 seasons effort.
Without Jim and Steele's efforts, the season's outcome would
have been entirely different. They believed in the team’s
philosophy of family orientation.
Ron's son, Tony, races Kid Karts and his dad, Steve, manages the
team, and periodically races in the "Masters" class. Father and
son teammates, Shannon and Colton Aldridge (IKS Yamaha Pipe
Champion), make up the balance of the team.

hosts such races as "The King's Royal," "The Mopar Million,"
"The Dream," and "The World 100." The World 100 annually
attracts over 200 dirt late-model racers.
